Residents of Apete in Ibadan are shocked after discovering the remains of a decomposing body of a man after four years in his bedroom.
According to neighbors, the deceased, whose name is still unknown as of press time, was last seen four years ago while making one of his infrequent trips from Portharcourt in Rivers State, where he was living at the time, to Ibadan.
The exact cause of his death is still unknown, but locals told newsmen that nobody in the neighborhood was aware of it until this week, when the residents decided to enter his compound to trim the overgrown grass that had turned it into a sanctuary for snakes and rats.
When the gate to the house was locked from the back, it was reported that the Abokis hired to trim the grass in the deceased compound were instructed to jump in. However, when they did, they discovered that the house owner’s car is in the premises and had been covered with grass.

Eyewitnesses said that after successfully cutting down the bush, they looked inside the building through window and spotted the decaying corpse’s bones on his bed, holding a phone.
A thorough investigation into the event is now being conducted by officers of the Oyo State Police Command.
