The spokesman of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Charles Aniagwu has given reasons why his party is happy that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is not the presidential candidate of the APC.
Osinbajo participated in the APC presidential primary election in June last year where he lost the ticket to the former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu.
In an interview with Arise Tv, Aniagwu said that compared to Tinubu, Osinbajo would have been a bigger threat to the presidential ambition of Atiku Abubakar because he is ‘acceptable to most Nigerians’. According to him, the PDP is lucky that Osinbajo is not the flag bearer of the APC.
In a video shared on YouTube by Arise TV, Charles Aniagwu said, “If the APC had chosen Osinbajo maybe we will be involved in a contest because Osinbajo has got the right frame of mind and respect for everybody. He might not have the money Emi Lokan has but he is acceptable to most Nigerians. But luckily, they didn’t look in that direction else by now we would have been talking about a contest because we know that Osinbajo almost gets close to the qualities of Atiku”.
