Nottingham Forest trio of Jesse Lingard, Emmanuel Dennis and Taiwo Awoniyi have enjoyed quite a bromance since the start of the 2022/23 season.
Lingard has been spotted a couple of times with the Super Eagles of Nigeria attackers on social media, as he occasionally tries to learn the Nigerian culture.
The 30-year-old Lingard, who has made no secret of his admiration for Nigerian pop music has been spotted saluting his Nigerian fans in Pidgin under the tutelage of Super Eagles star Taiwo Awoniyi on social media.
The former Manchester United star has also shared clips of himself vibing to Afrobeat songs by superstars like Wizkid, Davido and even Burna Boy.
Lingard has now shared a clip of himself and Super Eagles stars Taiwo Awoniyi and Emmanuel Dennis dancing excitedly in the Forest dressing room to a 2021 Afrobeat mega hit – Monalisa.
Lingard shared the clip on his official Snapchat on Thursday, with his teammates looking ecstatic with the song playing in the background.
‘Monalisa’ is a song by Nigerian singer Lojay off his debut EP LV N ATTN.
The trio were also joined by two other of their African teammates and Ivorian duo Serge Aurier and Willy Boly.
‘Monalisa’ is the fifth track of Lojay’s debut project and the biggest song off it as well.
The song which fuses elements of Ampiano is a pop song sees the singer Lojay, heap praises on his lover as he appreciates her beauty and continuously drools over her.
The song currently has over 38 million streams on Spotify, and the remix with American popstar Chris Brown, has already garnered over 42 million streams on the platform as well.
