The presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar has said that the youths have every right to vote for the Labour Party. He said this while speaking on the chances of Labour Party winning the elections on an interview with BBC News.
The former vice president noted that the Labour Party lacks the needed structure to win the election. He said that while it’s understandable that the Labour Party are “starters”, they cannot start by winning an election.
He said;
“Let’s be realistic, where’s Labour Party in this country, where is their structure? They have no single member of the Local Government, State Assembly or House of Representatives, they have no senate, no governor, no local government chairman, no nothing. Fine, they’re starting, it’s not bad to start but you cannot and at the same time be at the top.”
However, he was objected by the journalist who told him that the Labour Party is famous among the youths. Reacting to the question, he said;
“Ok, let the youths vote for them, it’s their right.”
