The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has issued a warning about ongoing attacks in Benue that are suspected to be carried out by herdsmen.

The state’s acting chairman, Isaac Mffo, sounded the alarm at a press conference in Makurdi, the capital.

Mffo said that the latest attack on rural communities had cost lives, destroyed farms, and forced people to leave their homes.

The politician said that if the situation isn’t stopped, it will make it harder for people to vote in the March 11 state elections.

“We call on the All Progressives Congress (APC) controlled Buhari regime to rise to its responsibility,” he urged.

The PDP asked security agents to be sent out to protect people from “the herdsmen who have terrorised the state for too long.”

Mffo, on the other hand, said that the PDP would challenge the results of the elections for president and national assembly.
