Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has commiserated with his colleague, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known as Wizkid, following the demise of his mother.
Gists9ja earlier reported that a close associate of Wizkid confirmed that the singer lost his mother after a brief illness.
Mrs. Balogun, who was a pillar of support for her son’s flourishing career, and often seen showing her support for him from the sidelines at concerts, died in the wee hours of today, Friday, August 18, 2023.
Wizkid’s longtime manager, Sunday Aare, also confirmed the sad news to The Punch.
He said, “Yes, she died this morning, at about 1.30 am”
In a post on his Twitter page, Davido described Wizkid as his brother and assured him that he is currently praying for him.
He wrote: “Praying for you my brother @wizkidayo Sadness flies away on the wings of time.”
