Moses Korede Are, fondly known by fans as Baba Gbenro from the popular Mount Zion series Abattoir, has passed away.
The news of his death was shared by his colleague Oluwaseun Adejumobi, who posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram.
“Heaven’s Gain Again. A General Has Gone to Rest,” Adejumobi wrote, expressing his sorrow and honoring Baba Gbenro’s legacy.
Another tribute came from gospel singer Zoe Adeola, who shared her condolences on X. She wrote, “Rest in peace, Baba Gbenro. Your role in Abattoir will forever hold a special place in our hearts. It’s so painful to say goodbye.”
Reports indicate that Baba Gbenro had been struggling with diabetes prior to his passing. Born on June 11, 1959, he spent much of his early life in Kano State, leaving a legacy cherished by his colleagues and fans alike.
