The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Debo Ologunagba, has launched a scathing critique of the All Progressives Congress (APC), claiming that there is little to no distinction between the ruling party and bandit groups terrorizing the nation.
Ologunagba made this assertion during a press briefing held at the PDP national headquarters in Abuja. According to him, the APC has exhibited governance styles and policies that undermine national stability, worsen insecurity, and exacerbate economic hardships for Nigerians.
“There is no difference between the APC and bandits,” Ologunagba remarked. “Both are destructive forces causing pain and suffering to Nigerians, whether through physical violence or bad governance that has crippled the nation’s economy and security.”
Criticism of APC’s Governance
The PDP spokesperson accused the APC-led administration of failing to deliver on its promises of tackling insecurity, fighting corruption, and reviving the economy. He alleged that under the APC’s rule, insecurity has worsened, with banditry, kidnappings, and terrorism becoming more rampant.
“The APC’s inability to address insecurity effectively has emboldened criminal elements across the country,” Ologunagba said. “This government has not only failed to protect Nigerians but has also created policies that impoverish the people, leaving them vulnerable to exploitation by these same criminal elements.”
Economic Woes
Ologunagba also criticized the economic policies of the APC, highlighting the removal of fuel subsidies, skyrocketing inflation, and the depreciation of the naira as examples of governance failures.
“The APC has turned Nigeria into a shadow of itself. Millions of Nigerians are unable to afford basic necessities, businesses are closing down, and foreign investments are fleeing due to the lack of confidence in the government’s policies,” he added.
A Call for Change
The PDP National Publicity Secretary urged Nigerians to reject the APC in future elections, stating that the country needs a leadership that prioritizes the welfare and security of its citizens. He assured Nigerians that the PDP remains committed to rescuing the nation from what he described as the “misrule” of the APC.
“We cannot continue to endure this level of hardship and insecurity. The APC has failed on all fronts, and it is time for Nigerians to demand better leadership,” Ologunagba concluded.
This statement adds to the ongoing political rhetoric as the PDP intensifies its opposition to the APC’s policies and governance.
