Prominent activist and political commentator Deji Adeyanju has accused the Nigerian Police of defying a Federal High Court order by refusing to release popular musician and social media personality Speed Darlington, also known as AKPI.
In a statement on Tuesday, Adeyanju alleged that the police are unlawfully detaining the controversial artist despite a clear directive from the court mandating his release. “This is a brazen disregard for the rule of law and a troubling sign of growing authoritarianism,” he said.
The saga began when Speed Darlington was arrested earlier this month under circumstances that remain unclear.
