Joe Igbokwe Defends Buhari’s Legacy, Rejects Claims of Failure

All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Joe Igbokwe, has strongly dismissed narratives labeling former President Muhammadu Buhari as a failure, emphasizing that his administration laid a solid foundation for the current government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Igbokwe took to his Facebook page to defend Buhari’s legacy, urging Nigerians to acknowledge the former president’s achievements and their lasting impact.

“Let nobody living or dead run away with the thinking that PMB is a failure. Perish the thought,” Igbokwe wrote. “He laid the solid foundation for PBAT to build on. We are seeing the footprints and the gains today.”

His remarks come in response to claims by Babafemi Ojudu, a former Special Adviser on Political Matters, who criticized Buhari for lacking vision. Ojudu argued that this perceived shortfall led to Buhari’s opposition to the presidential ambition of former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

While Ojudu described Buhari as a patriot and incorruptible leader, his comments reignited debates over the legacy of the former president, who governed Nigeria from 2015 to 2023.

Igbokwe’s statement seeks to redirect public focus toward the structural and developmental groundwork laid by Buhari’s administration, which he believes has enabled President Tinubu’s government to make significant strides.
