Renowned Nigerian gospel singer, Paul Nwokocha, has finally broken his silence regarding the end of his second marriage, which lasted just over a year.
Nwokocha, known for his Igbo gospel music, married his second wife, Goodness, in September 2023, shortly after his first marriage to Alice ended. At the time, he publicly celebrated Goodness, dedicating songs to her on their wedding day and emphasizing their shared hometown connection.
Explaining why he remarried so soon, he stated:
“I decided to marry my new wife, Goodness, one month after my ex-wife packed out of our matrimonial home because the Holy Bible said Paul Nwokocha should not be alone.”
Marriage Ends Amid Controversy
Unfortunately, Nwokocha’s second marriage has also come to an abrupt end. In a video shared online, the singer confirmed the breakup, alleging that his wife was caught taking nude photos and sending them to other men.
Expressing his disappointment, he stated:
“I married a wife, not a wh*re, so I owe no one an apology for this.”
“Stop calling me names. He who wears the shoe knows how it pinches.”
“No matter how long I have been married to you, if I find out you are engaging in wrongdoing, you are leaving my house.”
Public Reaction and Ongoing Debate
Nwokocha’s statement has sparked mixed reactions, with some social media users sympathizing with him, while others question the circumstances surrounding both of his failed marriages. The controversy has once again put the spotlight on celebrity relationships and the challenges of marital stability in the public eye.
As the singer moves forward, many are watching to see how he navigates this latest personal setback while continuing his gospel music career.
