Olajide Adeniran, popularly known as Jandor, the 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, has blamed the party’s leadership for failing to meet expectations, accusing them of internal sabotage during the election.
Jandor, who recently resigned from the PDP, claimed that some party leaders actively undermined his chances at the polls. Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Tuesday, he criticized the national leadership for failing to uphold the party’s constitution and sanction members who worked against PDP’s interests in the last general elections.
PDP’s Inaction on Anti-Party Activities
Jandor expressed disappointment that instead of disciplining those who allegedly engaged in anti-party activities, the party’s leadership rewarded one of them with a key position.
“We were waiting to see if the party at the national level, which is governed by its constitution, would enforce its rules and sanction those who openly engaged in anti-party activities,” he said.
“Instead of taking action, the same person was appointed as Vice Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee at the national level. We waited patiently for two years, hoping for justice, but nothing happened,” Jandor added.
Denies Seeking Tinubu’s Support
Addressing speculations about his political future, Jandor clarified that he has had no contact with President Bola Tinubu since leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2022.
When asked if he had reached out to Tinubu or APC leaders in Lagos for political backing, he dismissed the notion.
“No, we are not in the same party. I don’t have to consult with them,” he stated.
