APC Spokesman In Ogun, Oladunjoye Is Dead

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has been thrown into mourning following the death of its spokesperson, Alhaji Tunde Oladunjoye.

Oladunjoye, a respected political figure from Ijebu-Itele in the Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun State, reportedly passed away in the United Kingdom after battling a prolonged illness.

The family confirmed his passing in an official statement issued on Friday, April 4, 2025. “It is with deep sorrow and total submission to the divine will of Almighty Allah that we announce the passing of our beloved father, husband, brother, and esteemed leader, Alhaji Abdulraheem Olatunde Ayinde Oladunjoye, who returned to his Lord on Friday,” the statement read.

Details regarding his burial arrangements will be announced by the family in due course.

In reaction to the sad news, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, expressed profound grief, describing Oladunjoye’s death as a monumental loss to the party, the government, and the entire state. In a heartfelt tribute, the governor said he was devastated by the news, praising the deceased as a “gallant, cerebral, and exceptionally hardworking party man.”

“Receiving the news of the departure of our gallant, highly resourceful, uncommonly cerebral and hard-working party spokesman and consultant, Tunde Oladunjoye, was devastating for me. This is tragic news that is frankly difficult to fathom,” the governor stated.

Governor Abiodun went on to commend Oladunjoye’s unwavering loyalty and commitment to the ideals of the APC, adding that his voice and presence were integral to the success of the current administration.

“He never believed in half measures,” the governor said. “Tunde was fiercely devoted to defending the programmes, policies, and reputation of the Ogun State Government. His brilliance, eloquence, and passion set him apart. He was the voice of courage and easily the most effective spokesman the Ogun APC has ever had.”

Governor Abiodun extended his condolences to Oladunjoye’s family, colleagues, and associates, noting that his passing leaves a void that will be difficult to fill. “He was a good man, a dependable ally, and a patriot who will be sorely missed by all who knew him.”

Before serving as the party’s image-maker, Oladunjoye held the position of Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government, where he was known for his grassroots leadership and service to his community.

As tributes continue to pour in, many remember him as a man of principle, intellect, and uncommon dedication to public service and party development.
