In a clear demonstration of party confidence, delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have elected Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu, popularly known as Ikukuoma, as the party’s gubernatorial candidate for the upcoming Anambra State election scheduled for November 8, 2025.
The APC governorship primary, which took place earlier today, concluded with Ikukuoma securing a landslide victory, earning a total of 1,455 votes. He triumphed over three other contenders: Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, who polled 67 votes; Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo with 26 votes; and Edozie Mmadu, who garnered 8 votes. Additionally, 26 votes were declared invalid by the electoral committee.
This emphatic win cements Prince Dr. Ukachukwu’s position as the APC’s standard bearer as the party sets its sights on reclaiming Anambra’s top political seat. Known for his philanthropic efforts and business acumen, Ikukuoma’s candidacy has already sparked enthusiasm among party faithful and supporters across the state.
Party leaders and observers have praised the peaceful conduct of the primaries and expressed optimism that the APC, under Ukachukwu’s leadership, will present a formidable challenge in the November election.
With the ticket now secured, attention turns to the campaign trail, where Ikukuoma is expected to unveil his vision for Anambra State and rally widespread grassroots support in the weeks ahead.
