BREAKING: Fresh Terror Attack on Zamfara School Leaves Teacher Dead, Others Abducted

An overnight terror attack on the Government Secondary School in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State left a teacher dead and several others abducted on Sunday.

Luqman Bisallah Majidadi, the executive director of the Centre for Northern Awareness and Development, confirmed the attack to the journalists on the phone on Sunday.

“But I do not have the full picture yet,” Majidadi said. “Give me some time, I will send a phone number of someone in that area to you.”

He had not sent the number at press time.

Via its X handle, Amnesty International Nigeria stated that the incident “happened through Saturday night” and the terrorists went away with an unspecified number of people.

“Heavily armed bandits invaded Government Secondary School Tsafe Zamfara State,” Amnesty posted.

“They killed a teacher and abducted unspecified number of people. The incident which happened through Saturday night is yet another indication of failure of Nigerian authorities to protect the people.

“Frequent attacks and abductions by bandits targeting schools have severely affected operations of schools and access to education across Zamfara State.

“Targeting schools is a serious violation of international humanitarian law, and it undermines the right to education.”
