Ayamelum, Anambra State – June 17, 2025
In a strong show of unity and strategic mobilization ahead of the 2025 general elections, the leading All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial aspirant for Anambra South, Sir Azuka Okwuosa (popularly known as Chinyelugo), today joined the APC gubernatorial candidate, Owelle Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu (Ikukuoma), and his running mate, Senator Iyom Uche Ekwunife, PhD (Ifekaolaedo), as they flagged off their much-anticipated local government tour in Ayamelum.
The event marked the official beginning of a grassroots campaign sweep across the 21 local government areas of the state by the APC, aimed at deepening the party’s engagement with the electorate and consolidating its support base in rural and semi-urban communities.
Sir Okwuosa’s presence at the tour launch has been described by political observers as a significant boost to the party’s campaign machinery, given his towering influence and political experience within the Anambra South Senatorial District and beyond.
Addressing a large crowd of party faithful, community leaders, youth groups, and market women gathered at the Ayamelum LGA Secretariat, Dr. Ukachukwu reiterated the APC’s commitment to providing visionary leadership, infrastructural transformation, and economic revitalization across the state. He emphasized that the tour was not just a political ritual, but a sincere attempt to interface directly with the people, hear their concerns firsthand, and unveil his administration’s people-centered development blueprint.
“We are here today not only to ask for your votes but to begin a journey of mutual commitment. Anambra deserves more, and with your support, we will deliver a government that truly listens and acts,” Dr. Ukachukwu said.
In her remarks, Senator Uche Ekwunife praised the resilience of Ayamelum constituents and urged them to embrace the APC as a platform for real change. She highlighted the importance of women and youth participation in politics, pledging inclusive governance if elected into office.
Sir Azuka Okwuosa, speaking in his usual calm yet commanding tone, reaffirmed his loyalty to the party and commended the Ukachukwu-Ekwunife ticket as a symbol of political balance and competence. He emphasized the urgent need for strategic representation at both state and national levels, pledging to deliver qualitative and impactful leadership if elected to the Senate.
“This is not a time for sentiments; it is a time for decisions that will shape our tomorrow. Let us make 2025 the year Anambra takes her rightful place in national politics,” Okwuosa stated.
The campaign team also visited traditional rulers, religious leaders, and youth associations in the area, receiving blessings and endorsements from several quarters.
As the APC kicks off its tour with enthusiasm and unity of purpose, political analysts predict that the party’s growing momentum, grassroots strategy, and the caliber of its candidates may pose a formidable challenge in the forthcoming elections.
