An American TikTok user identified as J-Love has been exposed for allegedly defrauding several Nigerian women by posing as a romantic partner, with one victim reporting that he swindled her out of more than $10,000.
The incident came to light through a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), in which two women detailed how they were deceived by J-Love, who lured them with promises of love and a future together, only to manipulate, exploit, and eventually abandon them.
One of the victims admitted that although she noticed warning signs early on, she chose to overlook them simply because he was American.
She eventually financed his trip from the U.S. to Nigeria, only to uncover his true motives.
In her account, she stated: “There were so many red flags from the start, but I ignored them because he was American. I introduced him to several people, and he scammed every one of them. He scammed me out of about $10,000. I even paid for his flight from the U.S. to Nigeria.
”She further alleged that J-Love had full access to her personal and financial information. “He had all my credit cards, my signature, and even listed me as his next of kin while taking out loans. The first three emails I saw were related to child support cases,” she claimed.
According to her, he used emotional manipulation throughout the relationship, frequently gaslighting her whenever she raised concerns. “When I questioned him, he’d respond with things like, ‘Who broke you?’—making me feel like I was the problem.”The video has since gone viral, drawing widespread attention online and igniting conversations in the comments, with many users expressing outrage and sharing similar experiences.
