Nollywood star, Toyin Abraham has reflected on her past and present relationships, revealing why her first marriage to actor Adeniyi Johnson fell apart and how she later found fulfillment with her current husband, Kolawole Ajeyemi.
In a recent interview with media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Toyin Abraham revealed that her family was firmly against her first marriage.
Despite their objections, she proceeded with the relationship, which ended after roughly two years.
Toyin said:
“My family actually prayed and received signs that it wouldn’t work. But I didn’t listen—I went ahead with it.
”She now speaks warmly about her marriage to Kolawole Ajeyemi, describing their relationship as one rooted in love, mutual respect, and spiritual connection.
“In real life, he’s very calm. He’s a prayer warrior. Whenever I go to Abeokuta, he’s always there for me.”
She shared that their connection grew gradually as they spent more time together on set, supporting each other through different life challenges.
As their bond strengthened over time, they decided to keep the relationship private until it naturally blossomed into something more meaningful.

“I didn’t want anyone to know at first, but I started getting fond of him. I’d tag along when he was going to work. Then we introduced ourselves to our families, I got pregnant, and marriage followed.
I come from a Christian home, so my family prayed and God confirmed he was the one. Trust me, I married one of the best. I won’t say the best because there are other marriages I admire, like my godmother’s, but my husband is definitely one of the best.“
