A 46-year-old Nigerian woman who recently shared her lifelong struggle with loneliness and her status as a virgin has begun receiving marriage proposals from men both within Nigeria and overseas, according to a recent report by Agidigbo FM.
The woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, shared her deeply personal story during an emotional appearance on Kokoro Alate, a radio programme hosted by renowned broadcaster Oriyomi Hamzat.
During the interview, she revealed that she had never been in a romantic relationship or engaged in any sexual activity, despite being financially stable and hardworking
She spoke candidly about enduring years of feeling unwanted and dismissed, particularly by younger people who often mocked her by calling her “grandma.”
“I’m 46 years old and I’ve never had sex. If there’s anything you can use to test me, go ahead. I don’t know how to chase men,” she said during the broadcast. “About three years ago, I noticed that men began to see me as an old woman. I’m hardworking—I sell goods, I’m not lazy. But the constant rejection has been overwhelming.
”Her heartfelt plea resonated widely, prompting an outpouring of sympathy and admiration from listeners who praised her honesty and courage.
In a follow-up broadcast, Oriyomi Hamzat shared that the woman’s emotional story had moved many people, resulting in a flood of marriage proposals from both within Nigeria and from Nigerians living in the United States and the United Kingdom.
“We’ve been receiving calls from men—serious-minded individuals—expressing their desire to meet and marry her,” Hamzat revealed. He also invited the woman back to the station to review the proposals and potentially begin the journey toward finding a life partner
