A British woman has emotionally recounted how her Nigerian husband died after secretly traveling to Lagos to visit his girlfriend, having told her he was heading to Northern Ireland for a two-week lecture.
A few days later, she received a devastating phone call informing her that her husband had been involved in an accident in Lagos, Nigeria—and had died.
“My husband flew from the UK to Nigeria just to cheat, and he died there,” she said tearfully. “We were married for 15 years and had three children. I’m a British woman—we met here in the UK, fell in love, and got married.
”She added that she had never suspected him of infidelity. “Not once did I think he was cheating. We lived peacefully. Our children are beautiful, well-mannered, and enjoy African food.”
She revealed that her husband frequently traveled to Nigeria—usually once or twice a year—and that she had even joined him on some of those visits. “My husband regularly travelled to Nigeria, once or twice a year, but I had no idea he was involved in other relationships during those trips. I had accompanied him to Nigeria several times while we were married.
”She went on to say, “One year, he told me he was travelling to Northern Ireland for a two-week seminar. He said he was going to lecture and train students there. I agreed and wished him well, not knowing he had other plans.”
She explained that they stayed in regular contact through video calls, especially when he claimed to be less busy at the hotel. But suddenly, the communication stopped. “About a week into the trip, I tried calling my husband one day. I gave him several missed calls—no answer.
At that point, he was supposed to be done with his lectures and back at the hotel.
”Eventually, someone picked up the phone and delivered shocking news. “A man answered and told me my husband was in the hospital, fighting for his life after being involved in a terrible car accident.”She said the person didn’t share many details, and her attempts to get more information went unanswered. “I kept calling, but no one picked up.”A few hours later, she received another call—this time from her husband’s younger brother. “My in-law, his younger brother, called and told me my husband had died.
