The Suspended Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara has revealed that President Bola Tinubu personally directed him to reconcile with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike amid their ongoing power struggle.
The conflict,However, addressing his supporters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Saturday, the suspended governor described the reconciliation as bitter and heavy.Fubara urged his followers known as the “Simplified family” to accept the peace accord.He disclosed that the reconciliation was a necessary sacrifice for the sake of stability and development in the state.
Fubara stated, “Following the meeting we had before May 29th, we’ve held several other meetings. In one of those sessions with the President, President Tinubu made it clear, saying, ‘I want you and your oga to reconcile.’”
Fubara revealed that President Tinubu instructed him to make peace and reconcile with his “Oga,” referring to Nyesom Wike.The rift between Fubara and Wike began shortly after Fubara assumed office in 2023.
The crisis between Fubara and Wike prompted President Tinubu to declare a six-month state of emergency in Rivers State, along with Fubara’s suspension.However, just a few days ago, President Tinubu hosted a reconciliation meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, bringing all aggrieved parties together.Following the meeting, Wike announced that peace had been restored in Rivers State, noting that all parties had agreed to work in unity going forward.

Fubara urged them to accept the peace agreement, emphasizing that it was a difficult but necessary sacrifice made in the interest of the state’s stability and development.
