A former senatorial aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections, Hon. Chief Bright Igodo Ogaji, has expressed confidence that the appointment of former Senate President, Senator David Mark, as Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), will position the party for victory in the 2027 general elections.
Ogaji also threw his support behind the newly inaugurated leadership of the ADC in Benue State, describing it as the beginning of a new era for both the state and Nigeria at large.
The ADC was formally launched last week in Abuja by key opposition figures, along with some members from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Senator Mark was named Interim National Chairman, while former Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, was appointed Interim National Secretary.
The party was also officially launched in Benue State on Wednesday, where it took over the former PDP Secretariat. Former Speaker pro tempore of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Terngu Tsegba, and former federal lawmaker representing Obi/Oju Constituency, Rt. Hon. Samson Okwu, were named Interim Chairman and Secretary of the state chapter, respectively.
In a personally signed statement, Chief Ogaji praised the ADC’s leadership at both state and national levels, calling on his supporters to register with the party, which he described as a fresh political platform capable of delivering Nigerians to the “promised land.”
The former Chairman of Oju Local Government Council in Benue State, whose large contingent of supporters was visibly present at the event, praised Senator David Mark’s exceptional leadership over the years. He described Mark as a transformative figure and a game-changer, who has emerged from political storms to help liberate Nigeria from the grips of oppression and underdevelopment.
He said, “The new face of the ADC, Senator David Mark, is undoubtedly a game-changer—someone who has weathered political storms to help free Nigeria from the shackles of oppression and underdevelopment, and to steer both Benue and the country back onto a path of inclusive growth, prosperity, and national pride.
“His emergence, along with the new leadership in Benue, marks the beginning of a renewed Nigeria with a clear direction toward progress.
”I call on all my supporters, both at home and abroad, to rally behind these exceptional leaders and work together to make this new party a success for the people of Benue and for all Nigerians,” Ogaji added.
