
The Abia State Government has announced the postponement of the official launch of the Abia State Integrated Wash Accelerated Programme (AIWAP) and the flag-off of the Aba Regional Water Scheme, initially scheduled for today, July 15.
According to the government, the shift in date follows the public holiday declared by the Federal Government to honour the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, who is being buried today.
The announcement was made in a late-night statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, who confirmed that the events have now been rescheduled for Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
The government expressed regret over any inconvenience caused by the change and appealed for public understanding.In a separate reaction to Buhari’s death, Governor Alex Otti described the news as “sad,” extending his condolences to the Buhari family, the people of Katsina State, and Nigerians at large.
