LaLiga: Victor Font Blasts Barcelona Over Camp Nou Delay – “We Make a Fool of Ourselves”

Former FC Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font has strongly criticized the club’s leadership after they announced yet another delay in their return to the iconic Camp Nou stadium.

Barcelona had originally planned to return to Camp Nou with the Joan Gamper Trophy match on August 10, 2025, but on Friday, the club disclosed via a statement on its official website that the move could not proceed due to failure to secure the necessary operational license.

Reacting to the development, Font took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his frustration, saying:

“Incredible that, being the best club in the world, we make a fool of ourselves with constant unfulfilled promises.

”He went further to accuse the current administration of “improvisation” and “wishful thinking,” claiming that the club continues to toy with the expectations of fans through repeated delays and unrealistic commitments.

Font’s comments reflect the growing discontent among Barcelona supporters, who were eagerly awaiting a triumphant return to their historic home ground.

The latest setback casts further doubt on the leadership’s handling of the Espai Barça stadium renovation project, which has already faced multiple delays and cost overruns.
