The Nigerian Senate has reaffirmed that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, will remain suspended until the National Assembly returns from its two-month recess.
This was confirmed by Senate spokesperson, Yemi Adaramodu, during an appearance on Politics Today, a programme aired on Channels Television, on Tuesday.His comments came shortly after Akpoti-Uduaghan was denied entry into the chamber following her attempt to resume legislative duties.“
The Senator remains suspended and will continue to be so until the Senate reconvenes in two months,” Adaramodu said, criticizing what he described as attempts to turn legislative matters into media content.
Senator Natasha was suspended in March 2025 for allegedly breaching Senate rules during a seating arrangement dispute involving Senate President Godswill Akpabio, whom she accused of sexual misconduct—an allegation Akpabio has strongly denied.
