Santos FC captain, Neymar, was involved in a heated exchange with a fan following his team’s 2-1 loss to Internacional in a Brazilian Serie A clash early Thursday morning, Nigerian time.
A viral video on X (formerly Twitter) captured the moment Neymar confronted the fan at the Estádio Urbano Caldeira, visibly angry after the final whistle. Goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão had to intervene, pulling the visibly upset Neymar away from the argument to deescalate the situation.
During the match, Neymar was at the centre of attention, both for his play and his emotional reactions. The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star thought he had scored the equaliser and even celebrated passionately—breaking the corner flag and attempting to rip his shirt—only to realise the ball hadn’t crossed the line.
Internacional secured victory through goals from Johan Carbonero and Rafael Santos Borré, while Álvaro Barreal netted a late consolation for Santos.
Despite Neymar’s efforts, including missed chances, he was unable to get on the scoresheet. The loss leaves Santos in 17th place after 15 league games, firmly in the relegation zone, while Internacional climb to 10th on the table.
