Rt. Hon. Sunday Umeha, the Member representing Udi/Ezeagu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, actively participated in a high-level 5-day study tour of Turkey’s electricity sector and energy market.
The tour, which runs from July 21 to 25, 2025, brings together key federal government delegates, policy makers, and stakeholders in Nigeria’s power sector. It is aimed at deepening understanding of Turkey’s energy infrastructure, regulatory models, and successful public-private partnerships in power generation and distribution.
Rt. Hon. Umeha’s participation underscores his commitment to advancing sustainable electricity development and attracting innovative energy solutions for his constituency and Nigeria at large. The study tour features visits to major power plants, transmission facilities, energy regulatory institutions, and strategic discussions with Turkish energy experts.
“This is a valuable opportunity to learn from a country that has made significant strides in electricity reform and renewable energy integration,” Hon. Umeha noted during one of the sessions. “Our goal is to replicate best practices that can help us build a more efficient and reliable power sector back home.”
