WAFCON Triumph: ‘Your Time Will Come’ – Ajibade Encourages Young Nigerian Girls

Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, has shared an inspiring message with young Nigerian girls following Nigeria’s victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Ajibade, who was crowned Player of the Tournament, offered a powerful five-point piece of advice: stay passionate, work hard, believe in yourself, remain hopeful, and know that anything is possible.

Taking to her X account on Monday, the 25-year-old forward celebrated Nigeria’s 10th WAFCON title and used the moment to motivate the next generation of female footballers.

“We did it! Mission X accomplished!Words can’t fully express what this moment means. This isn’t just our 10th WAFCON trophy — it’s a testament to the relentless spirit of this team,” she wrote.

Ajibade also expressed heartfelt appreciation to fans and teammates:

“To the fans: You are our 12th player. Your cheers from home and abroad echoed in our hearts and pushed us to the very end. Thank you for your unwavering support.To my sisters, my teammates, I’m so incredibly proud of every one of you. We did it together against all odds.”

She concluded with a direct message to young girls across the country:

“To the young girls with dreams in their eyes: this is for you. Hold on to your passion. Work hard. Your time is coming. Believe in yourself, and know that anything is possible.
