“I Know When to Fight” — Iyabo Ojo Fires Back at Verydarkman Over Apology Claims

Actress Iyabo Ojo has clapped back at activist Verydarkman following his allegations that she failed to honour a promise to publicly apologise to singers Naira Marley and Sam Larry over her earlier accusations linking them to the death of late singer Mohbad.

Verydarkman had claimed that during a roundtable session at the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF NCCC), which involved Iyabo, Tonto Dikeh, Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and their lawyers, Iyabo agreed to issue a public apology — a promise he says she has now denied.

However, in a TikTok live session, Iyabo Ojo firmly denied the claims and slammed Verydarkman’s version of events as “manipulative” and “dishonest.”

“So you had to come out and do your normal manipulating tactic. I’m a very wise woman. I’m not like you that’s very deceitful and corny. You’ve tried in all your might to bring me down, but you cannot,” she said.

Iyabo stood by her decision to speak out at the time, noting that her outrage was sparked by disturbing content online following Mohbad’s death in 2023.

“I used to promote Naira Marley’s songs until Mohbad died. I saw a video of Naira Marley dancing after Mohbad’s death — I was angry,” she recalled.

She added that videos of Sam Larry allegedly confronting Mohbad and Zlatan Ibile influenced her belief in the bullying allegations.

“I saw Sam Larry’s video where he accosted Zlatan Ibile and Mohbad; that was when I believed the bullying allegation. As a concerned citizen and a mother, I used my platforms,” Iyabo stated.

She reiterated her right to speak up as a mother and public figure, emphasizing that she acts with conscience, not malice.
