APC Is Nigeria’s Problem and Must Be Removed’ – Sule Lamido Fires at Ruling Party

Former Governor of Jigawa State and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart, Sule Lamido, has launched a scathing attack on the All Progressives Congress (APC), branding the ruling party a “national cancer” that must be eradicated for Nigeria to recover.

Speaking during an interview on ARISE News on Tuesday, Lamido accused President Bola Tinubu of using the presidency to fight partisan battles on behalf of the APC, rather than focusing on national development.

“We must remove this cancer called APC,” Lamido declared. “It is corruption that has metastasized to stage 4. APC is Nigeria’s problem—and it must be excised.”

He likened the APC to a “deadly disease” that has plagued the country since 2015, insisting that the party’s failures have been consistent across the Buhari and Tinubu administrations.

“APC in 2014, 2019, 2023—it’s the same thing. If Tinubu is Buhari, they’re all APC. Never vote for them again. It’s the failure of the party and its leaders,” he warned.

Lamido also emphasized the need for a strong political coalition to challenge the dominance of the APC, stating that the country’s rescue should not be about any individual—but about rejecting a broken system.

“I’m willing to support any arrangement, by whatever name, that will restore Nigeria. It’s not about Tinubu—it’s about APC,” he added.
