ADC Rep: Amaechi Irrelevant in 2027 Presidential Race, Can’t Win Rivers

Leke Abejide, a member of the House of Representatives for Yagba East/Yagba West/Mopamuro Federal Constituency in Kogi State, has dismissed former Rivers State governor Chibuike Amaechi as a non-factor in the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking on Mic On, Abejide claimed Amaechi lacks the political influence to win even his home state, Rivers, let alone a national contest.

He added that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) may lose members to a coalition involving Atiku Abubakar, Rauf Aregbesola, David Mark, Rotimi Amaechi, and Peter Obi — but stressed that only Atiku and Obi currently have the crowd-pulling power to compete.

“Amaechi is not in the 2027 calculation. He can’t win Rivers State. He’s not a politician now — just a former one. Atiku, yes. Obi, yes. Amaechi, no,” Abejide said.
