Al Jazeera Journalist Anas Al-Sharif Killed in Israeli Strike in Gaza

Al Jazeera Arabic correspondent Anas Al-Sharif, 28, has been killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza City.

The strike, which occurred on August 10, 2025 outside Al-Shifa Hospital, claimed the lives of five Al Jazeera staff members. Al-Sharif, who had been reporting live from Gaza in recent weeks, was documenting the ongoing Israeli bombardment at the time of the attack.

He is survived by his wife, Bayan Sharif, and their two young children, Sham and Salah.

This latest tragedy follows a deadly strike on the Al-Baqa Café, a popular meeting point for journalists and residents, where 39 people were killed.

Al-Sharif’s death adds to the growing toll on journalists covering the conflict, underscoring the extreme dangers faced by media workers in Gaza.
