President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, as a friend of over 20 years and promised that they will keep working together a remark seen by many as a nod toward Soludo’s second-term ambition.
Soludo visited the Aso Villa on Tuesday, where he had what he called a “robust conversation” with the president on issues including the economy and security, though he declined to share specific details.
On Wednesday, Tinubu confirmed the meeting in a post on his verified Facebook page, praising Soludo as a progressive leader and stressing that his administration will partner with any state committed to genuine development.
“It was a pleasure to welcome my friend of over two decades, Governor Charles Soludo, to the Aso Villa. We discussed ongoing reforms, the need for consistency, and ways to address insecurity through decisive action and inclusive opportunities for our youth.
“We share the conviction that progressives must work together to deepen democracy, strengthen security, and transform our economy. Our administration will continue to collaborate with every state serious about human, social, and economic development because Nigeria is strongest when we work together,” Tinubu said.
