Armed bandits launched coordinated attacks on two villages in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State, killing two people, abducting 25 others, and rustling several cattle.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared the update via X (formerly Twitter), the attacks took place late Friday night around 10:30 p.m., targeting Dogon Daji village in Nahuche District.During the Dogon Daji raid, the assailants—armed with AK-47 rifles—abducted 25 residents, including men, women, and children.
They also killed a local blacksmith identified as Muhammadu Kasu, and carted away a motorcycle and an undisclosed number of cattle.Shortly after, the bandits struck Danguro village, also within the same area.
In that attack, they killed another resident, Aminu Abubakar, and stole five motorcycles before escaping.
The incident has sparked renewed concerns over the worsening security situation in rural Zamfara communities, where armed groups continue to carry out abductions, killings, and livestock thefts with little resistance.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement, and local residents are reportedly living in fear as the attacks become more frequent and brazen.
