
Kenyan lawmaker Duncan Wangama, the Member of County Assembly representing Wusi Kishamba Ward in Taita Taveta County, has been devastated by a tragic double loss involving the deaths of both his wife and newborn daughter within a span of two weeks.
His wife, Stella Wangama, died in the early hours of July 8, 2025, shortly after giving birth via caesarean section. Although the delivery was initially successful, Stella developed complications that sadly claimed her life less than a day later.

She was laid to rest in a deeply emotional funeral ceremony on Thursday, July 17, 2025, attended by grieving relatives, friends, and political colleagues.Just as the family was grappling with the loss, another heartbreak struck.
The couple’s newborn daughter, Judy, who had survived her mother’s death, passed away on Sunday, July 20. Reports indicate that the child died from undisclosed complications, and she was buried the following day, compounding the pain of an already mourning household.

Duncan Wangama, overwhelmed by grief, was seen in distressing images shared online, weeping uncontrollably as mourners surrounded him during the funeral rites of his daughter.
