Friends, colleagues and associates have been thrown into mourning following the death of a fresh first-class graduate of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), identified as Mayowa, popularly known as Mayorwhiz.
Mayowa, who reportedly graduated from the university with first-class honours, was said to have taken up dispatch riding in Ogun State after completing his studies as he worked to earn a living.
According to reports circulating online, the young graduate was involved in a fatal road accident on Saturday, September 12, 2026, while riding a Qlink dispatch motorcycle in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The crash reportedly occurred at about 3:45 p.m. along the inbound Kuto underpass, around the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in the Kuto area of the city.
Reports indicated that Mayowa was riding the motorcycle when it collided with a red Lexus ES 350.
He was reportedly presumed dead at the scene of the accident following the impact of the collision.
His remains were subsequently conveyed to a general hospital in an ambulance belonging to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
The circumstances surrounding the crash have continued to generate concern, particularly following claims that two male occupants of the Lexus allegedly fled the scene shortly after the incident.
The identities and whereabouts of the two occupants could not immediately be established from the reports available.
