
Six people were k!lled and two others sustained injuries when the commercial vehicle they were in collided with a truck on the Kabba-Odo-Ape road in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi.
The Kogi Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Lawal Fagge, confirmed the incident on Sunday, September 20.
Fagge said the collission between the truck and the commercial vehicle occurred on Saturday afternoon, September 19. He attributed the cause of the accident to speeding.
He said: “It is unfortunate that six persons lost their lives, while two others sustained varying degrees of injuries as a result of the tragic incident involving a truck and another vehicle along the Kabba-Odo-Ape Road.
“We will continue to advise motorists to avoid speeding, unnecessary overtaking and desist from driving while fatigued. This is very important in preventing road crashes.”
The sector commander said the bodies of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital, Kabba.
