The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has advocated military training for Nigerians, saying such an experience would help citizens better understand the values of endurance, discipline and sacrifice.
Musa said military training could expose people to the realities of hardship, including hunger and physical challenges, while teaching them how to persevere in difficult circumstances.
According to the Army General:
“Every Nigerian should be able to go through military training. It will help you understand what it means to stay hungry, it will show you what endurance means.”
He stressed that exposure to military-style training could help build resilience and a stronger appreciation of the challenges faced by members of the armed forces.
The remarks have drawn attention to the possible role of military training in promoting discipline, national service and resilience among citizens.
