Former Anambra State Governor and NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said there is no personal dispute between him and the incumbent governor of the state, Charles Soludo.
Obi stated that he and his wife are godparents to Soludo’s children, stressing that their political differences should not be interpreted as a personal fight.
Speaking on Friday, Obi said:
“I and my wife are godparents to Soludo’s children. We are not fighting. If they say anything, I will answer them.”
The former governor also reiterated his position that his administration did not leave any debt in Anambra State when he left office.
According to Obi, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State had also confirmed the claim during a television appearance earlier in the day.
“Like I said yesterday, I didn’t leave any debt in Anambra State. Even Governor Alex Otti confirmed it this morning on national TV,” Obi said.
Obi’s comments come amid renewed public debate over the financial records of his administration and subsequent governments in Anambra State.
