A businessman has reportedly been arrested in Owerri, Imo State, following an allegation that he sexually assaulted his newly employed 19-year-old sales girl.
According to the report, the young woman had been working for the businessman for only eight days before the alleged incident occurred.
She was reportedly employed on September 15, 2026, and alleged that the incident happened on September 23 after they had closed for the day.
The victim reportedly said heavy rainfall began while she and her employer were still inside the shop.
She alleged that the businessman subsequently took advantage of the situation and sexually assaulted her.
The businessman was reportedly arrested following the allegation, while the circumstances surrounding the incident are expected to be investigated by the relevant authorities.
