A video showing a heated confrontation between two young women and market traders has sparked reactions online after a disagreement over one shopper’s outfit escalated into an exchange of words.
The incident reportedly occurred when the two women visited a local market to purchase household cooking items.
Trouble reportedly started after some market women took issue with the outfit worn by one of the shoppers, which was described as a pair of revealing bum shorts.
The traders reportedly criticised the young woman over her appearance, leading her friend to intervene and defend her.
In the viral footage, the friend is seen confronting the traders and exchanging heated words with them.
At one point, she reportedly suggested that some of the older women were reacting out of resentment because they could no longer dress in a similar manner as they might have done when they were younger.
The confrontation attracted attention online, with social media users sharing different opinions about the conduct of both the young women and the market traders.
Following the incident, the young woman reportedly expressed regret over her reaction, admitting that she was disappointed in herself for speaking rudely to the older women.
She said the experience had made her reflect on how she handled the confrontation and acknowledged that she could have responded differently.
