Hanks Anuku Urges Nigerians To Be Patient With Tinubu, Says ‘Country Was Not Spoilt By Him’
Nollywood actor Hanks Anuku has urged Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the president did not create the problems currently confronting the country.
Anuku made the statement during a recent interview on the Honest Bunch Podcast, where he argued that Nigerians were “too much in a hurry” and should give the president time to deliver on his mandate.
According to the actor, the challenges facing Nigeria predated Tinubu’s administration, and the president should be given an opportunity to address them.
“It’s difficult for somebody in Nigeria to help you. Now, stick with Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Nigeria has to be patient for the renewal of this man. The country was not spoilt by him. There were people there before him. Why didn’t they (Nigerians) go and attack those people? He has to fix it now,” Anuku said.
When asked whether he believed Tinubu was doing enough to address the country’s challenges, the actor said he believed the president was doing well and again appealed to Nigerians to exercise patience.
“He is doing great. Nigeria should be patient. We are too much in a hurry,” he said.
Anuku also dismissed suggestions that he could have been paid to publicly support the president.
Responding to the claim, the actor said he was expressing his personal opinion and questioned whether those who might succeed Tinubu would necessarily perform better.
“Paid? How many people can be better than him because he is this and that? Most people who are gonna come after, maybe they are even worse. So, the devil you know is better,” he added.
