Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has appealed to Nigerians to help identify an elderly man who was allegedly involved in the theft of phones and other personal belongings during the burial activities of actor Cjay Nwoks in Lagos State.
Arukwe shared CCTV footage of the man on social media, alleging that he stole phones belonging to actor Rex Kingsley Ok during the burial and service of songs held in honour of the late Cjay Nwoks at a Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) branch in Gbagada, Lagos.
According to Arukwe, the incident occurred during the event held last week, with the suspect allegedly leaving the venue after the reported theft.
Sharing the footage, the actor wrote:
“This man is wanted. He attended the burial and service of songs held in honour of Cjay Nwoks at Redeem Church in Gbagada and stole @rexkingsleyok’s phones before disappearing. CCTV footage captured and identified him during the theft.”
Arukwe urged anyone with useful information about the man’s identity or whereabouts to contact Rex Kingsley Ok.
He also appealed to social media users to repost the footage to help establish the man’s identity and locate him.
The allegation has drawn attention to concerns about the security of personal belongings at crowded public gatherings. However, the claims against the man have not been independently verified.
