Nigerian Woman Faces Backlash After Proposing to Married Man as Second Wife

A Nigerian woman identified as Ameerah has sparked controversy on social media after publicly expressing her desire to become the second wife of a married man, Rayyan Tilde.

The controversy erupted after Tilde gained attention on X for surprising his wife with a luxurious backyard makeover featuring a home gym, an outdoor kitchen and a tennis court.

Impressed by the gesture and what she perceived as his commitment to his family, Ameerah tagged him in a post, expressing admiration for the way he cared for his wife and family.

Describing herself as a woman of faith, values and purpose, she openly declared her interest in becoming his second wife whenever he decides to marry again.

In her message, Ameerah wrote: “Assalam @RayTilde, I hope this message meets you well. I admire the dedication and care you show your family. When you’re ready to add a second wife, I would be honoured to be your life partner. I’m a woman of faith, values, and purpose, and I’d love the chance to get to know you properly.”

However, her public proposal did not sit well with many X users, who criticised her decision to approach a married man in such a manner.

The post generated reactions across the platform, with users weighing in on her intentions and the appropriateness of openly expressing interest in becoming another man’s wife while he is already married.

The incident has since drawn attention to social media discussions surrounding marriage, polygamy and the boundaries of expressing romantic interest in married people.
