According to the Canarian media outlet ‘Tiempo de Canarias’, which has had access to the sentence of the Investigating Court Number 3 of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, who has condemned the international soccer player David Silva for hitting a young woman during “a brawl” at the recent Maspalomas Carnival. The events took place on June 19 of this year and, according to the sentence, the soccer player’s brother, Fernando Antonio Jiménez Silva, and a third person also participated, who hit a young man with a stone and threatened another with a knife. Always according to the aforementioned information, the trial was never held, because David Silva and the other two defendants admitted the facts. A consent sentence was issued condemning the Real Sociedad player from the Canary Islands to pay a fine of 1,080 euros. The San Sebastian club is not going to make a public statement on this matter, which it will manage internally and privately.
The sentence explains the account of the events with the agreement of the accused: “during a brawl between several people during the early hours of June 19” this year in the vicinity of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana International Camp, David Jiménez Silva, “with the intention of undermining the physical integrity” of the victim, “he strongly grabbed her arm to separate her, causing her to fall to the ground,” according to what can be read in the sentence. Because of this action, the sentence continues, the young woman suffered a “post-traumatic cervical pain, contusion in the left elbow, laceration in the second finger of the left hand, lacerations in both knees and lacerations in both legs, which required first medical assistance without treatment subsequent medical and eight days of basic personal injury”, indicates the resolution signed by the magistrate Francisco Javier Ramírez de Verger Vargas, who condemns the Arguineguín footballer to a fine of 1,080 euros – at the rate of twelve euros per day for three months – as “perpetrator responsible for a minor crime of injuries, with subsidiary personal liability in case of non-payment of one day of deprivation of liberty for every two daily installments not paid.” It has also imposed the obligation to compensate the young woman with 520 euros, by way of civil liability (280 euros for “injuries suffered” and 240 for “material damage caused”).
For his part, the brother of the Real player, Fernando Antonio Jiménez Silva, has been sentenced for two minor crimes of injury to a three-month fine, because “he hit a young man in the face with his hand, and once there was fallen to the ground, he continued to hit him in different parts of the body together with other people who could not be identified, “according to the sentence, which adds that he then “delivered various blows” to another young woman “with the aim of undermining her physical integrity.” . And with regard to the third person involved in the events, the sentence says that he “threw a stone” at another young man, “which hit him in the head”, causing a wound that required surgical intervention for its suture. And “moments later he frightened another young man with a knife and told him ‘come here and I’ll kill you’”. This judgment is drafted in accordance with the parties, so it is final and there is no appeal against it.
