UK-based Nigerian Dies In Sleep

Akeem Ayobami Moshood, a Nigerian residing in the United Kingdom, has passed away. He reportedly died in his sleep on Sunday, February 9, 2025, leaving his family, friends, and colleagues in deep shock.

The sad news was confirmed by a family friend, Hellen Kotila, who revealed that Moshood lived in Rochdale with his wife and three children. Recalling their time as neighbors in Cathays, Cardiff, before he relocated, Kotila expressed her grief over the sudden loss.

Fundraiser Launched for Burial Expenses

In response to the tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist the family with funeral expenses.

Kotila, in a heartfelt social media post, appealed for support, explaining that the funds would be used to cover Janazah (Islamic funeral) costs.

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. With deep sorrow, I share that Mr. Akeem Ayobami Moshood passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at his residence in Rochdale, United Kingdom, leaving behind a wife and three young children,” she wrote.

She urged well-wishers to pray for the deceased, asking that Allah grant him mercy and a place in Jannah Al-Firdous. She also encouraged donations, noting that the family needs financial support to arrange the burial as soon as possible.

“Any little amount counts. Thank you all,” her message concluded.

The loss of Moshood has left his community in mourning, with many offering prayers and support to his grieving family during this difficult time.
