Very Reverend Dr. Oluyinka Ibikunle Omololu, the 6th Provost of the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina, Lagos, is dead.
Gists9ja learned that Very Rev. Omololu died at about 10 am on Monday at the age of 82.
The late cleric was the Provost of the Cathedral between 2002 and 2009.
A statement by the Cathedral reads: “His passion for the Cathedral, love for Pastoral Ministry, and many more legacies shall remain indelible in the heart of many Parishioners.
“We remember Mama Omololu, Dr. Femi Omololu, and his siblings in our thoughts and prayers at this time.
“May the Lord comfort and bless them all. May the soul of the faithful departed rest on.”
Apart from being a religious leader, Dr. Omololu was a past Chairman of the Nigerian Squash Rackets Association, NSRA, (as it was known at the time), and was a skillful squash player.
