One of Arise News analysts, Emmanuel Efeni was seen on television reviewing some recent news headlines alongside Oseni Rufai and Reuben Abati. During this moment, he made a statement that Reno Omokiri undermining the degree of Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi is very illogical because Nigeria has been ruled well by Obasanjo who had no university degree as at then.
According to Mr Efani, the constitution says that any citizen of Nigeria can run for president as long as they have a First School Leaving Certificate, so Reno calling Peter Obi the least qualified candidate among his mates because he had a second class lower in Philosophy makes no sense. He made it clear that a good degree does not determine a good leader.
He went further to explain that if becoming a President is based on one’s degree then any PhD holder can qualify and that makes Reno’s statement illogical. He gave an example of President Olusegun Obasanjo being a good President in Nigeria without having any university degree back then.
