In 2015 Amaechi Said Our Govt Would Not Have Money To Pay Salaries Or Build Project – Wike

On Saturday, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike in his speech called out former River state governor Rotimi Amaechi for the comments he made back in May 2015 that the Wike-led government will not have enough money to pay for the salaries of its workers, not to talk of building projects. This comment according to Governor Wike was made by Amaechi when he became Rivers state governor and 7 years on, things have turned out differently. According to Wike, the Rivers state government has not only gone on to pay its workers and build projects, but it has also completed the ones left in their early stages by Wike. In his own words as seen on Channels television.

“Let me now even tell you why we should celebrate. Back on May 27, 2015, when he was celebrating his birthday, he said our government would not have money to pay salaries talkless of projects. So, today, by the grace of God, we are not only paying salaries, we are not only paying pensioners, we are not only paying gratuities that he did not pay, we have gone beyond to carry out projects which he failed to do.”
