Al-Nassr are planning to sign veteran goalkeeper Keylor Navas, bringing together former Real Madrid teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Navas.
The 36-year-old Costa Rican goalkeeper is signed with Ligue 1 powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain, although he is second string behind Gianluigi Donnarumma. Navas’s current deal is slated to expire this summer, making him a free agent come the fall.
After former Arsenal and Napoli goalkeeper David Ospina suffered an elbow injury that may require surgery, Marca claims that Al-Nassr are now studying the possibility of putting a deal in place this week.
In preparation for PSG’s exhibition friendly against Ronaldo and a Saudi league select XI in Riyadh, Navas has emerged as a major target and is scheduled to meet with Al-Nassr.
Navas isn’t the only goalkeeper Al-Nassr is interested in. Still, he’s at the top of the list for Rudi Garcia’s squad as they look to build around Cristiano Ronaldo, who recently signed with the club as a free agent after being released by Manchester United.
Although Navas is still under contract with PSG, Al-Nassr hopes to sign him as a free agent before transfer talks begin, which might be complicated if PSG insists on being paid.
